If any one person makes donations of $1,240 or more within one financial year to a Victorian political party or candidate for a state election campaign, it must be disclosed to the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC).
This disclosure must be made within 21 days of the donation that put you above that threshold.
Up to $1,500 of membership fees and donations from an individual in a financial year are tax-deductible, and there is an absolute limit of $4,970 donated by any one person in the four years between any two state elections.
