Mulgrave by-election result

Results are in for the Mulgrave by-election and we're pleased to say Victorian Socialists and our candidate Kelly Cvetkova received 3.8% of the vote - placing us fifth out of ten and first from among the minor parties. At three booths the Greens pipped us by just one vote!

Although we're disappointed to have again fallen just short of 4%, we think this is a solid result for us in an area we haven't run before and after a relatively low-key campaign (a big chunk of VS members have been working hard in the past six weeks building various pro-Palestine organisations and activism).

Thanks to everyone who contributed to our campaign and to everyone in Mulgrave who voted 1 for a socialist alternative to the major parties. We think this is potentially a very good area for us and we'll very likely be back for future elections!
