Come out for an evening of stories of radical resistance, and help Victorian Socialists launch the next phase of our Western Metro campaign for a winnable seat in November's state election
This special campaign event features Liz Walsh – lead Victorian Socialists candidate for the upper house in the Western Metro Region – in conversation with radical activists who have fought alongside her for the past 25 years.
We will also hear from Jorge Jorquera, Victorian Socialists candidate for Footscray and VS's first local councillor in Maribyrnong.
Liz cut her teeth organising high school walkouts in opposition to Pauline Hanson in the 90s, and has spent the decades since building refugee rights campaigns, solidarity with Palestine, union struggle and more.
A tireless fighter for women's rights and reproductive justice, Liz most recently organised the rallies of over 15,000 people in Melbourne to stand in solidarity with the US protests against the overturning of Roe V Wade, and to defend access to abortion everywhere.
This will be a great opportunity to get to know Liz and the community of activists building this campaign as we hit the final stretch to get a socialist into parliament!
