What to expect

Jorge Jorquera is the current councilor for the Burndap ward. He has spent four decades as part of numerous campaigns and communities of resistance—fighting the pro-market policies that have turned governments into guarantors of profits for big business and forced competition into every aspect of our lives.

Catherine Robertson will also be running for the Maribyrnong council. Catherine grew up in the West—she knows that we need more people in parliament who will fight for our wages and unions, for public housing, for the environment and for the rights of the oppressed.

Both Jorge and Catherine have been proud advocates for Palestine their entire activist lives. 

The parliamentary system is rigged for the rich. We need socialists in there to give working-class people a voice—and, more importantly, to help build powerful movements in our workplaces, our communities and on the streets to really drive change.
